Top quality baseboards constructed in the traditional method with the exhibitor in mind. All joints have a self alignment system and fixings as required. If a scale track plan is provided we can arrange bracing to avoid point motor positioning.

Pictures below of my new exhibition layout for which the baseboards have just been completed on 7th January 2009. This project can be followed at: www.bermuda-road.org.uk over the coming weeks.

Baseboards of any type can be supplied to order with legs etc.

This is the completed format for my new exhibition layout. The following pictures show the fine construction methods employed.

All boards and supporting legs are ready and waiting to have some track and scenery added.

Quality housed joints are used throughout to provide a top quality product with strength and stability. The offset centre rail is to facilitate the installation of point motors below surface level.

Certain corners have legs fitted into these recess boxes, again captive nuts are used to ease the assembly process.

Pre-drilled holes can be seen in all internal bracing rails, these are to facilitate the routing of electrical wiring.

Baseboard joints are the nightmare of all railway modellers. If the boards warp or twist the track over the joint becomes mis-aligned and de-railments occur. We have designed this Hardwood joint to address this problem.

The spline is shown on the upper board and the socket on the lower board. The use of Hardwood prevents wear and tear.

One board fully assembled with cross bracing to prevent lateral movement.

Here is a transition joint where two boards join at one corner.

as the spline joint is permanently fixed the leg fixing is housed within.

The spine joint in action, you can see how easy the two boards align and are self supporting whilst fixing bolts are fitted to pull them together from below.

You can see how perfect this joint is and the smooth finish is attained by passing the boards through a wide belt sander.

Here a rule over the joint shows just how perfect this joint is.

The transition joint in place between both boards is shown here.

This view shows the three boards assembled together.

The bracing rails are half lapped on opposing sides to maintain all fixings within the boards chosen dimensions.

This view shows the underside of a main supporting board, there are only two of these needed from the six boards in use.

The inner bracing is shown clearly here.

This view shows the leg bracing and adjustment spigot in detail.
